Several hundred gather for second annual Rockford Walk for Life

ROCKFORD — Several hundred people gathered in Rockford Saturday for the second annual Rockford Walk for Life.

Participants gathered for speeches outside the Stanley J. Roszkowski U.S. Courthouse and walked several blocks through downtown carrying signs advocating for the end to abortion.

The event is organized each year by the Rockford Family Initiative, an organization dedicated to promoting family values in the greater Rockford area.

"We advocate for the love and protection of children in the womb and the defense of the traditional family," the initiative states on its website.
