Paris Saint-Germain continued its excellent start to 2022 with a 2-0 victory over Stade Brestois 29 at the Parc des Princes. The capital club had goals from Kylian Mbappé and Thilo Kehrer.

Midfielder Marco Verratti also had a good match despite not appearing in the goal or assist category for Les Parisiens. The 29-year-old played 89 minutes where he had three key passes on 129 touches and won six of ten duels.

After the match, Verratti spoke with Canal Plus, where he provided his thoughts on the result.

“We tried to play even if we didn’t start well by giving them chances. Afterward, we got back in place, we played simple, we got chances and we won. We are satisfied. The most important thing is to create situations. We could have scored more, but when you play well, as a team with the players you have, I think it’s normal that you get chances. We must continue like this,” Verratti said.

“More in the 18 meters? With the position I occupy, I do it a little less, but it is something that I have to improve. Today, I could have scored. […]I am happy. My objective is to make as many passes as possible to the attackers and put them in the best position to score.”
