GAME RECAP

CHI: 1, ANA: 0

2nd - 5:33 - Brandon Hagel (Erik Gustafsson, Riley Stillman)

Chicago took a 1-0 lead at the tail end of a crazy sequence early in the second. On the penalty kill, Jakub Galvas made a goal-line clearance of a puck behind Marc-Andre Fleury seconds before Riley Stillman knocked a shot behind Fleury out of midair to keep a scoreless game. Stillman then quickly cleared the puck up ice for Erik Gustafsson to collect in the offensive end fresh out of the penalty box. The defenseman saucered a pass from the corner to the late-trailing Brandon Hagel, who quickly put a wrister into the top corner for a 1-0 lead.

3rd - 4:22 - Patrick Kane (Alex DeBrincat, Jonathan Toews) -- PP

The Blackhawks doubled the lead in transition as well. After a Ducks shorthanded look at the other end of the ice, Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane went the other way on a 2-on-1 off an outlet feed from Jonathan Toews. DeBrincat sent a seam pass across to Kane for a one-timer in the wide slot, which No. 88 buried for his ninth of the season and second straight game with a goal.
