Baiken's gameplay trailer for Guilty Gear Strive may be only hours away from dropping and here's when we believe she'll launch

It's almost time to be reunited once more

Ever since Guilty Gear Strive was first announced at Evo 2019, Baiken remained as one of the most requested characters from fans, but just like Guilty Gear Xrd, she didn't make the launch roster.

Unlike Xrd, however, we won't be waiting years and years to flip some mats around, as Arc System Works revealed she'll be the next fighter to join Strive as DLC โ€” and we may be seeing a lot more of her very soon.

Baiken's announcement trailer at CEO 2021 last month concluded by stating she'd be available in late January though we're already half way through the month and haven't heard anything else about her officially yet.

Despite that near radio silence though, we believe there is a strong probability the one-armed samurai will receive her big gameplay trailer as soon as tomorrow, January 16.

That's because ARCREVO America 2021 East Qualifier's finals will be taking place, and ArcSys have been pretty consistent about dropping trailers during events after Strive's launch.

Jack-O's reveal came at Evo Online 2021, Happy Chaos' at Red Bull Kumite and Baiken's teaser at CEO, so the ARCREVO event for one of the largest competing regions makes the most sense โ€” and would obviously get a lot more butts in seats to watch the finals.

If we don't get the trailer tomorrow, there's still another official Strive tournament for Canada next weekend that could also fit the bill.

So when will she release then?

Well, all of the DLC launches for Season Pass holders have come between the 27th and 30th of their respective months, so it's safe to assume Baiken is going to show up during the last full week of January too.

With 2 of the 3 prior DLC fighters hitting the game on a Tuesday, that means the best option for Baiken would be January 25.

That would line up with an ARCREVO trailer this weekend too since Jack-O and Happy Chaos released around two weeks after receiving their trailers.

Of course, however, these developers aren't duty-bound to follow a release schedule or pattern like this, even if they've generally followed it before, so things can fairly easily be changed or shuffled around.

There's also the chance ArcSys could wait until the last second to do so too, as Frosty Faustings is scheduled to take place as an offline major from Jan. 28โ€“29, which would mean Baiken could only really launch on the 31st then to make the deadline.

Either way, we should all probably pay close attention to the ARCREVO finals tomorrow night.
