NIKITA KUCHEROV DANGLES AARON EKBLAD & SETS UP COREY PERRY FOR EASY TAP-IN (VIDEO)
What a beautiful goal by Kucherov. With Brayden Point (the NHL's number one playoff goal scorer since 2020) on the shelf, someone has to pick up the slack if the Lightning are going to keep up with Florida's record-setting offensive weaponry. Absolutely cooked him. Kuch has been deadly all game...

RYAN MCDONAGH LEVELS NOEL ACCIARI, REFS BLOW IT & CALL A PENALTY (VIDEO)
This was as clean of a hit as there could be. Acciari catches the puck in his glove & McDonagh instantly trucks him. Not sure who called this a penalty or why he did it (Ahem, Kelly Sutherland). But this was clearly a blown call, and if the Tim Peel debacle taught us anything last year. There's probably a make-up call inbound.

SPORTSNET ANALYST RIPS APART LEAFS NEWS CONFERENCE: 'STATUS QUO FOR THEM IS GOOD ENOUGH'
If anyone expected big changes from the Toronto Maple Leafs after yet another first round exit from the NHL playoffs, the team's management has put those ideas to rest. In an end-of-the-season news conference earlier this week, Leafs President Brendan Shanahan said both General Manager Kyle Dubas and Head Coach Sheldon Keefe are safe and he believes they are an important part in getting the team to the next step. In turn, Dubas stated he has no plans to break up the group's core in order to spread money around to get other players. Essentially, not much is going to change next season. That's not sitting well with one analyst.

BARRY TROTZ INTERVIEW TOUR CONTINUES WITH ANOTHER CLUB ON FRIDAY
Barry Trotz is a smart man, it is no secret. And smart men make smart decisions, which is why he is such a hot commodity. That and his 914 NHL wins (3rd most all time) & his 2018 Stanley Cup ring. As it were, since his dismissal from his post with the New York Islanders he's interviewed with two NHL teams. As of yesterday, he interviewed for the Winnipeg Jets for their head coaching job. The Jets are a logical choice, as they've got a solid core of players & he's from the area. However, smart men don't take the first offer they are given. They also take the wining & dining in stride, and why not? Free dinner. And as I said, Barry Trotz is a smart man.
