While the serum is designed for lashes, experts confirm that certain lash products are okay (and safe!) to use on the eyebrows.

“It’s not uncommon for people to use their lash products on their brows as people prefer thicker, fuller brows and it’s generally considered safe for this use,” says Marisa K. Garshick, M.D., clinical assistant professor of dermatology at New York Presbyterian-Cornell and dermatologist at Manhattan Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery Centers.

“Lash products, like GrandeLash, are formulated with ingredients that can be safe and effective for the brows as well—this particular formulation uses vitamins, antioxidants, and amino acids to help lengthen and strengthen the hairs, promoting fuller and healthier brows,” Dr. Garschick explains.

Even better? It ranked number one in our list of the Best Eyelash Serums for Longer, Thicker Lashes, According to Dermatologists. And it’s received over 17,000 5-star ratings on Amazon. Both skincare experts and shoppers love the formula because of its lash-protective, nutrient-rich ingredients and its ability to aid in hair growth.

However, Dr. Garshick warns that there is no real proof that shows lash products work on eyebrows. “Because the clinical studies for the lash products do not necessarily look at the brows, the true efficacy is unknown,” she explains.

You should also be cautious if you’re experiencing thinning brows because that could be a sign that something else is going on health-wise. “Thinning of the eyebrows can be associated with certain medical conditions, it’s always best to speak with a board-certified dermatologist prior to use if you are experiencing thinning,” advises Dr. Garshick.
