The new Candler's Crossing Chick-Fil-A Wards Road plans to open on Tuesday, January 18.
This Chick-Fil-A moved from the drive-thru only location on Candler's Mountain Road.
Michael Marshall, Vice President of Operations with Candler's Crossing Chick-Fil-A said they outgrew that location.
He said this new spot will allow them to offer more opportunities to their employees and the community.
"Now we have more sales channels, more business area, more opportunities for growth and development for those team members," Marshall said.
"Chick -fil-A is huge in Lynchburg and the ability to take a smaller restaurant, transplant it a half-mile up the road and be able to offer that much more opportunity for the Lynchburg community is a great thing for us to offer," Marshall said.
Marshall said there is a lot that customers can look forward to at the new Chick-Fil-A. Including a dining room and a lot more technology. He said all of their menu boards are digital. There will also be more face to face interaction with the addition of iPads for employees to take orders with at the drive-thru.
He said everything is brand new and top of the line.
"We've really invested a lot of time money and effort into getting this place top notch cutting edge technology ready to hopefully meet and exceed expectations that Lynchburg has for our Chick -Fil-A," Marshall said.
Marshall said the process of opening has taken longer than expected due to supply chain issues.
"Processes that usually take a week or two are now taking three and four weeks," Marshall said.
However, the opening is in sight and they are completing final touches.
"We are just walking through the restaurant and finding all of the little things that have to be done. Making sure that all of the equipment is taken care of--we're doing dry runs on all of the pressure fryers, on all the drink machines-- registers," Marshall said. "All the little things that make a Chick-fil-A experience great, we want to make sure are up and running."
Because of COVID-19 surges, he said they won't open the dining room until February 14th. However, it will still be open for carry out and pick up. They are also still hiring.
"Anybody looking for work, we'd be more than happy to sit down for an interview I know there's a lot of people looking for work and there's a lot of businesses looking for employees and we happen to be one of those," Marshall said.
