The Boston Celtics have had an up-and-down 2021-22 NBA season, to say the least. So far, they’ve been the definition of a .500 basketball team. The C’s have only won three games in a row twice this year, and have never been able to make that number four.
Both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown have played alright, but there are much deeper issues with the Celtics. A lack of depth, a lack of shooting, and constant isolation-heavy basketball have plagued this team to the point of mediocrity.
One of the major criticisms of the Celtics this year is that they lack a true point guard.
Marcus Smart was named the starting point guard at the start of the year, and while he’s done a fine job, some would still argue that he’s more of a combo guard than a true one.
