TACOMA, Wash. - On Saturday, Celine Dion announced that she has to cancel the remaining shows of her North American "Courage World Tour" because of health issues.
The singer was set to perform in Portland at the Moda Center on March 24 and in Tacoma at the Tacoma Dome on March 26.
Dion was recently treated for severe and persistent muscle spasms which are preventing her from performing, and her recovery is taking longer than anticipated, a post on her website said.
“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient and follow the regimen that my doctors are prescribing. There’s a lot of organizing and preparation that goes into our shows, and so we have to make decisions today which will affect the plans two months down the road," Dion said in a post on her website.
According to the website, tickets purchased with a credit card will be refunded automatically and ticket holders of the cancelled performances will get an email.
