On Jan. 14 at approximately 4:20 p.m. the Nebraska State Patrol was called to a vehicle accident on Highway 71, approximately 15 miles west of Hemingford.
A Honda Pilot driven by 53-year-old Hattie Hanks of Crawford was traveling eastbound when she crossed the center line and collided with a westbound Ford F-150.
Nebraska State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said Hattie and passenger, 27-year-old Rylee Hanks of Chadron died at the scene.
An infant passenger in the Honda was transported to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Ford was also transported to Regional West with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.
Thomas said the crash remains under investigation.
