EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — Golden Globe nominee Kristen Stewart plays the late Princess Diana in the new film "Spencer," which was directed by Pablo Larraín.

On "The LA Times Envelope Roundtable" on Spectrum News 1, Stewart opens up to host Amy Kaufman about stepping into the princess' shoes.

"Diana's clothes are such a separate entity that they're kind of constantly telling their own story," said Stewart. "Going through every picture and all the footage that we have from her, her lines of communication were so sullied and complicated. When she couldn't articulate how she felt and she couldn't be straightforward about what was going on internally, I always felt like she was reaching out from behind these cloaks, which were gorgeous gowns sometimes."

The roundtable also features actors Penélope Cruz, Kirsten Dunst, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Hudson and Tessa Thompson. Click the arrow above to see Stewart discuss the film.
