The 2022 BottleRock Festival will offer a mix of metal, rock, pop and hip-hop, with everyone from Pitbull to The Black Crowes

Some music festivals feature exclusively heavy music, bringing together a mix of hard rock and heavy metal. Other festivals switch it up and combine a range of genres, from metal to indie rock to alternative to pop. In Europe, most festivals are the latter, but in the U.S., we’re known for our genre-specific festivals.

One U.S. festival that breaks the mold is BottleRock Festival in Napa Valley. Organizers recently announced the festival’s 2022 lineup, and it features some heavy metal, as well as light, indie rock and pop. The festival is set to rock Northern California the weekend of May 27 through 29.

California metal legends Metallica have been tapped to headline of night of the festival. Other rock and alternative names on the bill include The Black Crowes, Greta Van Fleet, Twenty One Pilots, Silversun Pickups, Grandson, Marcus King, Fantastic Negrito, Dorothy, Taipei Houston, OTTTO and more.

The festival also boasts a range of pop and hip-hop-leaning acts, including Pink, Pitbull, Luke Combs, Tygo, Mount Westmore, Rainbow Kitten Surpise, Spoon, Chvrches, Bleachers, Banks, Alessia Cara, Vance Joy, Michael Franti and Spearhead, The Wailers featuring Julian Marley and more.

The festival bills itself as, “The best music, wine, food and brew festival,” so expect a range of wine, food and beer options. After all, a festival in Napa Valley has to bring the wine. The festival promises to feature “wines from some of the most heralded producers in the world. From crisp sauvignon blancs to delicious chardonnays, elegant and luscious pinot noirs to blockbuster cabernets, the Napa Valley has it all, and BottleRock offers the best of the region, with the help of our on-site staff of sommeliers and wine experts.”

The festival will be set the Napa Valley Expo for all three days. Three-day tickets for the festival are on sale Tuesday (Jan. 11) at 10 p.m. PT. Check out the full lineup and find tickets on the BottleRock website here.
