Roy Keane shocks Man Utd fans by PRAISING first-half performance with David De Gea ‘allowed back on the bus’

Keane has been heavily critical of United in recent years, with goalkeeper De Gea no exception to his harsh words.

In 2020, the Irishman even declared that the Spanish goalkeeper shouldn't be allowed on the team bus following a nightmare outing against Tottenham.

He insisted that he should be made to get a taxi to Manchester from London.

But he has now joked he is free to sit next to his team-mates after a string of important stops against the Villans.

Speaking during the half-time break, the Sky Sports pundit said: "De Gea is back to his best and I am happy to give him credit for that."

Before joking: "David De Gea is allowed back on the bus."

He then praised the first half outing from United, who went into the break 1-0 up after Emiliano Martinez let Bruno Fernandes' strike slip through his hands.

Keane added: "United will be pleased. They have been compact.

"It was a huge mistake from a very good goalkeeper. These things happen - but United started quickly and probably deserve to be in front."

Fans were left shocked at Keane praising his former employers, as one Twitter user posted: "Roy Keane admitting De Gea is back to his best?? The world is ending."

Another quipped: "Am I dreaming or did Roy Keane just praise De Gea."

A third added: "Roy Keane smiling at half-time of a United game. The worlds so messed up."
