By random I was thinking of the band Chicago and with all the success they’ve had I couldn’t quite guess what song had the strongest run on the charts?
Old school might assume 25 or 6 to 4? Saturday In The Park and Hard For Me To Say I’m Sorry.
All great songs and all successful.
But my first google gave me a Rolling Stone article on how Chicago was the 4th most successful group of All Time next to The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Rolling Stones. Not really surprised but more enlightened? Not the answer I needed but confirming the greatness and muddying the water.
I was an 1980s Chicago fan in the Peter Cetera Chicago 16, 17, 18, 19 time frame. For me songs like Love Me Tomorrow, You’re The Inspiration and Stay The Night were my first guesses. But nothing more than a hunch from a guy wearing parachute pants and Ocean Pacific shirts.
Nothing to hang your hat on.
My friend Greg Kempel is a huge Chicago fan and by chance I ran into him and asked if he knew. He did not. But he said his daughter Melody was an ace detective and would gladly do what I couldn’t do.
What’s the most successful Chicago song based by BillBoard? She didn’t just give me Chicago the band but Chicago the baseball team! Thank you!
Chicago Cub’s Longest losing streak from a season is 13. Just a little Cubs fact for you there longest winning streak is 20 games In 1906. My Dad is so ancient that he was there, and he remembers it! But Chicago’s song that spent the longest was Look Away in 1988 where it spent 2 weeks.
