If your iPhone battery is being stubborn about holding its charge, don’t despair. There are ways you can combat the problem that take just seconds out of your day and will make a huge difference, according to tech experts. For starters, knowing which habits kill your battery fast is a must — only then can you correct the issue ASAP and get on with your life (with a fully charged phone). Tech Expert Aseem Kishore, CEO of Help Desk Geek, spoke with SHEFinds.com about the four surprising reasons your iPhone battery is dying SO fast — and how to fix them.

Your Screen Is Too Bright

One of the biggest reasons for battery death has everything to do with your too-bright screen.

Usually, the screen’s brightness has a major impact on the battery usage,” Kishore says. “It’s very simple, the more bright you set your screen to be, the more your battery’s life will be drained. That is because it requires energy to be that bright, therefore you are required to charge it again and again.. So the simplest solution would be to set your brightness to a lower setting.”

You Aren’t Taking Advantage Of Battery-Saving Features

Guess what? Your phone is equipped with features that (literally) help save battery power — but it’s up to you to know they are there and make good use of them.

An extremely convenient solution is to select the low power mode in your iPhone,” Kishore notes. “Why? Because it literally is a feature that makes you use less battery! However, this might stop you from using some of the features in order to complete its task so you’ll have to choose very wisely.”

Your Emails Are Automatically Syncing

There’s really no need to have your emails constantly syncing, and it takes up a lot of battery power. “Instead of this, just manually refresh your email whenever you want to check it because that saves a lot of power,” Kishore says.

You’re Wasting Data

The solution: turn on Data Saver. “Especially for those who use their data non-stop - remember it uses a lot of battery,” Kishore says. “So turn on the data saver option so that both your data and your battery life can be saved.”
