Legends of Tomorrow spoilers follow.

Later this month, Legends of Tomorrow will welcome a villain from the early days of The Arrowverse: Eobard Thawne, also known as the Reverse-Flash.

Actor Matt Letscher appeared throughout season 1 and 2 of The Flash, as well as season 2 of Legends, and has occasionally popped up again here and there. But the character has continued without him due to some science-fiction messiness that saw him steal the face of Tom Cavanagh's Harrison Wells.

As reported by TVLine, the OG actor is coming back for the January 26 episode of Legends. Titled 'The Fixed Point', the episode features our heroes head to bar that is popular with time-travellers.

The following episode, 'Rage Against the Machines', sees the group deal with the ramifications of breaking a fixed point in time: attracting the Evil Waverider. Sara tries to broker a deal to get everyone out of trouble, but only lands them deeper in trouble.

With Letscher back on screen in The Arrowverse, could he also make an appearance in season 8 of The Flash, seeing as it is the final season of that show?

So far, the season of The Flash has been dedicated to the 'Armageddon' event, which brought back Katherine McNamara as Mia Queen. Was it her final appearance, or is it the first of multiple comebacks?

"I would love nothing more than to come play in the Arrowverse again," McNamara said when her episode aired. "Truly, if anybody needs a gal to come shoot some arrows at some bad guys in a cool supersuit, just cast a green arrow in the sky and I'll come running.

"That was the biggest gift, I think, on this episode: that we didn't know whether Mia could come back or what happened or where the mythology stood on that, and Eric [Wallace] and the Flash writers were so wonderful to leave that door open and to make it possible for her to be a part of this world again.

"It's really an honour, and now maybe there's a potential for a future there."

Legends of Tomorrow airs on The CW in the US. It airs on Sky One and NOW in the UK.
