It happened on Gallagher Road just after 8 a.m. After hitting the pedestrian, the driver of a black Ford Mustang convertible headed south toward Lewis Raulerson Road, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release Friday night.

The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital and later died, according to the release.

Detectives say the suspect’s convertible is missing a side mirror on the right side of the vehicle, and it also may have damage to the vehicle’s front passenger side.

Anyone who has information about the driver or vehicle involved in the crash is asked to call the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office at 813-247-8200.
