LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – The Biden administration announced that individuals will be able to order free at-home COVID-19 tests beginning on Jan. 19.

The administration purchased one billion at-home, rapid COVID-19 tests to distribute to people for free. The initial program allows people to order four free tests per residential address.

People can order the tests from COVIDTests.gov beginning next Wednesday, Jan. 19. According to a White House press release, tests will typically ship within 7-12 days of ordering.

The administration plans to begin a call line to help anyone unable to access the website to place an order. The administration will also work with local organizations to support high-risk communities in requesting tests.
