PITTSBURGH — Najee Harris’ status has been in question for Sunday’s contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. While the standout running back is looking to help his team in the playoffs, he did miss the first two days of practice during the week. Still, Harris says that after a PRP shot that had him sore early in the week, his elbow is improving and that he is feeling better about it the closer he gets to the game.

“The elbow is good,” Harris said. “It was sore for a couple of days, but now it’s doing better.”

Harris missed nearly two and half quarters Sunday with the elbow injury. However, it was not as much about the injury as much as it was about the equipment. As Harris confirmed, he felt that he could not play with the brace on, and instead needed elbow tape rather than a brace. It was all due to ball security concerns from him.

“When it happened on the third play, it was hurting for a minute,” Harris said. “I was waiting for it to go down. My adrenaline was pumping so I knew I wasn’t going to feel this pain for the next couple of minutes. I waited and then they tried to put a brace on, but I can’t play with the brace. I can’t feel my arm. With ball security being an issue, I just wanted them to put some tape on it. Then, I got back in there.”

Harris is feeling better, and while he is hurt, it would be a minor upset if he does not end up playing. It is likely that the Chiefs should expect him to play, and for Harris to give it his all.
