The midsize luxury cars segment is just about the only sedan segment that isn’t shrinking in the American market. It’s still a shockingly competitive field for cars like the 2022 Acura TLX and 2022 Genesis G70. In light of that, we combed through TrueCar’s list of the best midsize luxury cars and picked our favorites.

The 2022 Acura TLX is a budget luxury car with AWD

We’ll start with the 2022 Acura TLX, the first car on TrueCar’s list. The TLX spans a truly massive price range, as is typical of midsize luxury cars. The 2022 Acura TLX starts at $38,745 and runs all the way up to the S4-fighting TLX Type S, which starts at $54,645. Across that range, the TLX boasts a range of standard and optional features, from adaptive cruise to Android Auto and Apple Carplay.

“Midsize” may not be the correct term to define the raddest of dadmobiles: The 2021 Volvo V60. Because of that beautiful station wagon layout, the Volvo V60 is much longer than other midsize luxury cars. It also starts at a much higher price point of $42,045. There is some trade-off, however, as the 2021 Volvo V60 packs many standard features into its ultra-safe frame.

The 2021 Cadillac CT5 is one of the best small American luxury cars

Then there’s the polar opposite of the bourgeoise Cadillac Escalade. The 2021 Cadillac CT5. Again, this sedan spans a massive range, running from a base four-cylinder model up to the stupid-fast CT5 V Blackwing. As expected, the CT5’s pricing matches this, starting at $38,190 and ending with the Blackwing’s MSRP of $83,995. There’s also AWD available in all non-V CT5 models.

Is the 2022 Genesis G70 worth the money?

OF late, the 2022 Genesis G70 is the darling of this segment, and for good reason. The G70 starts at a competitive $38,570 with stunning looks and tech and features to match. The 2022 Lexus ES still has a CD player for some reason

Finally, the 2022 Lexus ES brings Toyota reliability to luxury cars. Starting at $41,825, a CD player isn’t the only remnant of a bygone age in this car, but that’s a good thing. Toyota and Lexus keep their tech around because they know it’s never going to break. If you need a reliable midsize luxury car, this is the one. Otherwise, go test drive the 2022 Genesis G70. You won’t regret it.
