CEDAR RAPIDS — Chris and Suzy DeWolf, co-owners of Lil’ Drug Store Products, will received the 2021 Howard Hall Excellence in Business Award from the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance at its Jan. 27 meeting.
The DeWolfes “run a successful family-grown-and-owned business and clearly see the value of generously giving back to their community,” said Doug Neumann, Economic Alliance executive director, said in a news release Friday.
The award is named for industrialist and philanthropist Howard Hall, “who used his influence to create a better local economy and community,” the release said. Hall died in 1971.
The Lil’ Drug Store Products, founded in 1974, is a portfolio of consumer products — including name-brand and private label health and beauty products, automotive needs, sunglasses and cellular accessories — and retail solutions companies, as well as ForeFold Ventures, a private investments and philanthropy limited liability company.
Lil’ Drug Store Products today supplies some 180,000 retail outlets as well as online customers.
The couple and their companies have donated more than $15 million to many local causes and projects including efforts to spur economic and community development over the past 15 years, according to the release.
The Economic Alliance’s 10th annual meeting will be held 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cedar Rapids Convention Complex in downtown Cedar Rapids.
