Von Miller says 2021 Rams are 'probably more talented' than 2015 Broncos

Von Miller led a dominant Denver Broncos defense in 2015 that won Super Bowl 50. The team’s offense also featured several stars, but quarterback Peyton Manning was aging and not playing at his usual level that season.

Miller now plays for the Los Angeles Rams, who went 12-5 in 2021 and clinched an NFC West title on their way to the playoffs. Miller compared his current team to Denver’s 2015 team during a recent interview with Rich Eisen, giving a talent edge to Los Angeles.

“We went to a Super Bowl in 2015 and this team has a lot of those similarities,” Miller said, via Cameron DaSilva of Rams Wire. “To be honest, this team is probably more talented than that 2015 team. We’ve got Jalen Ramsey, Aaron Donald, Leonard Floyd, myself.

“The offensive line on this team is definitely more experienced and more seasoned and we’ve got a whole stable of running backs. We’ve got Cooper Kupp, the best wide receiver in the league.”

Broncos fans might quibble with Miller’s statement, but there’s probably an argument to be made that the Rams are more talented.

On defense, Ramsey might cancel out Aqib Talib. Donald cancels out Miller. Los Angeles might not have someone to match DeMarcus Ware, but Denver also doesn’t have someone to match Kupp on offense.

Miller also clarified on Twitter that he did not say the Rams are “better,” but more talented.

Speaking of Miller’s Twitter, he still has “Denver Bronco” in his bio, and his cover photo features him in a Broncos uniform. It’s clear that the team has a special place in his heart, and it seems possible that he might return to Denver before the end of his career.

Before we get too caught up with talk of a potential future homecoming for Miller, though, Broncos Wire will be pulling for Miller to win a Super Bowl with the Rams this season.
