Maison Margiela and Reebok Releasing More Split-Toe Sneakers

By

After giving the Classic Leather Low the tabi treatment during Spring 2021 and releasing an even more daring high-top later that year, Maison Margiela and Reebok are back with a new take on their polarizing design.

The Spring 2022 Maison Margiela x Reebok drop melds the previous two collaborations together for a Classic Leather Low that features both tabi toes and the fashion house’s décortiqué technique, first seen on last year’s high-tops.

Décortiqué is a deconstruction technique which has become a signature of Margiela creative director John Galliano. Here, it’s used on the Classic Leather’s upper, taking away underlays and leaving gaps in the shoe’s usual structure.

The Maison Margiela x Reebok Classic Leather Tabi Décortiqué Low is set to drop in four different tonal colorways: bianchetto (above and immediately below), black, red, and white. Each pair retails for $595 and will be released on Friday, Jan. 28 from maisonmargiela.com and reebok.com.
