Shaman King is based on a 1998-2004 shonen manga. As is the case with many popular works, the manga received an anime adaptation while still ongoing, meaning that the ending the creators intended for us never made it to our screens. Instead, the reboot is faithful to the manga.

Shaman King follows Yoh Asakura, who fights to become the best among shamans an all-powerful being with the ability to summon spirits and manipulate the world according to their will. To achieve his dream, Yoh must come victorious out of a competition that only takes place once every 500 years. At this point, we're well into the Shaman fight, and unless you've read the manga, it might be hard to predict the result!

Episode 39 features a battle between Luchist and Marco. Hilariously, their supposed angelic spirits are actually cars, adding a very weird element to the show. The identity of Iron Maiden Jeanne becomes a source of drama, as Marco has led everyone to believe she's a holy girl, rather than a normal human with shamanic abilities. In the next episode, we expect even harder battles and new challenges.

The release day for Shaman King Episode 40, titled "Humility" is going to be next Thursday, the 20th of January 2022. For the time being, it will only be available on Netflix Japan and BiliBili in China.
