The current squad at Bayern Munich is one of the strongest in the club’s history. Die Roten has been consistently achieving success on the pitch over the last few seasons, including the historic second treble during the 2019/20 campaign.

The consistent success of the team highlights the quality of the squad, which is full of internationals. Along with performing well at the club, these players are also doing at the international stage. Joshua Kimmich is one such player in Bayern’s squad that has shone for Germany.

Kimmich played a lot of games during 2021 for club and country. His performances for Germany during the last 12 months have been rewarded with the player of the year award. The fans of the German national team voted for this award.

Joshua Kimmich played in almost every game for Germany until November. He has largely played as a midfielder for Germany after shining in this role for Die Roten. The German central midfielder was also impressive in Euro 2020, even though Germany bowed out of the competition in the first knockout round.

After missing the games in November due to coronavirus, Kimmich is likely to return to the German squad in March. Hansi Flick has made an instant impact as head coach of the German national team, and Kimmich is the key part of his plans for Germany. It is set to be a big year for Kimmich and Germany as they look to bounce back in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after suffering disappointments in the last two major tournaments.

Joshua Kimmich will be looking to get back in rhythm after missing a lot of games in the past six weeks due to illness. The German midfielder took longer to recover from coronavirus, which kept him away from the training ground for a long time. Kimmich made his return against Borussia Monchengladbach in the right-back position last weekend. He will have to play one more game in this position until more players return to action after recovering from coronavirus.
