Read All The Lyrics To Earl Sweatshirt’s New Album ‘SICK!’

Earl Sweatshirt returns today with his fourth studio album, SICK!. Comprising 10 tracks, it’s the Odd Future alum’s first release since 2019’s FEET OF CLAY EP. Fans had plenty of music to get them excited for the long-awaited full-length, though. Leading up to the LP’s drop, Sweatshirt gave us three promotional singles: “Tabula Rasa,” “2010,” and “Titanic.” Earlier this week, Sweatshirt also shared the full tracklist, revealing collaborations with producers like The Alchemist, Black Noise, and Theravada.

SICK! is very much a product of the pandemic. Sweatshirt had been working on an entirely different project before deciding to change course when lockdown started. “Before the virus, I had been working on an album I named after a book I used to read with my mother (The People Could Fly),” the rapper explained in a statement. “Once the lockdowns hit, people couldn’t fly anymore. A wise man said art imitates life.”

Sweatshirt sees SICK! as a reflection of the world’s state of mind during the tumultuous time—a state of mind that remains relevant in a world still not fully recovered from the pandemic. “People were sick. The people were angry and isolated and restless,” Sweatshirt said. “I leaned into the chaos ’cause it was apparent that it wasn’t going anywhere. These songs are what happened when I would come up for air.”
