God of War PC Accessibility Settings Benefit Ragnarok, Dev Says

Santa Monica Studio’s UX and accessibility lead Mila Pavlin has said that God of War PC accessibility settings have “really laid some groundwork” for Ragnarok‘s development because it allowed the studio to reconsider its approach towards constructing the game’s code. Speaking to PC Gamer, Pavlin revealed that Santa Monica Studio took on board feedback from PlayStation 4 players and used that to add several accessibility settings to the recent PC port, which will ultimately make their way to the upcoming title.

What do God of War PC accessibility settings include?

God of War PC comes with new accessibility settings including auto sprint, auto sprint delay, always-on reticle, and full keyboard/mouse remapping.

“A lot of accessibility features require that you change your pipeline of how you’re creating content,” Pavlin explained. “[The PC port] allowed us to go back in and relook at how we were actually constructing some of the underlying code.” As an example, Pavlin revealed that a lot of players with muscle fatigue found L3-bound sprinting challenging, so the auto sprint feature was designed to address that.
