There are two new best friends, the Ford Ranger Raptor and Ford Bronco Raptor were caught hanging out together as if they could be besties until the end. While we’re happy for friendship, the Ford Ranger and Bronco Raptor were actually doing some work by being tested together.

The Ford Bronco Raptor and Ford Bronco Raptor were seen together

We’re excited to report that the Ford Ranger Raptor and Ford Bronco Raptor were spotted together. They are siblings, they are friends, and they are both Raptors. This could mean that both vehicles will share a few of the same components.

Plus, America is finally getting in on Raptor action. The previous generation of the Ford Ranger Raptor wasn’t available in North America. But now the upcoming model is being put through the paces here, so we think we’re going to get it.

What to expect with the Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor

Both the Ford Ranger Raptor and Ford Bronco Raptor are covered in camouflage, making it a little challenging to determine specific details, but the spy photos do provide a few clues. For example, the Ranger Raptor looks taller.

The new Raptor truck and SUV will ride higher and will incorporate an enhanced suspension. It’s safe to expect the addition of skid plates and other off-roading equipment to beef up the look and to make these vehicles more capable.

While the center bar of the grille is covered, you can make out large FORD lettering. This will allow the Ranger and Bronco Raptor to match the Ford F-150 Raptor. You can also spot dual exhaust tips exiting the corners of the rear bumper.

This contributes to the rumor that the Ranger Raptor will be paired with an EcoBoost V6 engine instead of the four-cylinder option used by the previous generation. It could gain the twin-turbocharged 2.7-liter V6 engine with 310 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque from the Bronco.

But the Ranger Raptor could also be paired with the 3.0-liter V6 engine from the Ford Explorer ST. It cranks out 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque. Also, talk of a V8-powered Ranger Raptor R has been circulating.

The Ford Bronco Raptor will need more horsepower to compete. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 provides 470-hp. Perhaps the Bronco and Ranger Raptor will both have the same V8 engine.

When will we know more about the Bronco Raptor and Ranger Raptor?

We’re expecting to learn more clues about the Ford Bronco Raptor soon, as it makes its global debut in February. It may share parts with the 2023 Ford Ranger Raptor. Both of these vehicles already share the same T6.2 platform. Both vehicles also ride on a set of chunky BF Goodrich all-terrain tires.

But the Ranger Raptor is noticeably less wide than the Bronco Raptor. The Bronco Raptor has wider fender flares and could be heavier. This might mean that the Bronco Raptor will have more power than the Ranger Raptor.

Also, with clues about the Raptor R for both models, there could be more powerful variants on the way. All we can do is speculate for now, but we will keep you updated as we learn more.
