The time has come as Avril Lavigne is returning to her pop-punk roots as her new album called "Love Sux" will be out soon.

The "Sk8r Boi" singer announced that she will be releasing a brand new album set to land on February 25. It was previously teased by the 37-year-old singer that her seventh LP will arrive after signing under Travis Barker's label, DTA Records, back in November 2021.

In a tweet of the official account of the Canadian singer-songwriter, she posted a photo of herself holding balloons, donning an all-black fit against a bright red wall, telling her fans that "Love Sux" is coming.

Lavigne On Her New Music Release

Speaking on the album last month, Lavigne told Entertainment Weekly that it was inspired by Green Day, admitting that it is "a love letter for women."

"I really went back to what sounds I originally was influenced by at the beginning of my career [for this album]," she continued. "To the core, I'm a kid from a small town who listened to bands like Blink-182 and Green Day and NOFX in high school, and I tapped into that."

"It's fast. It's fun. It's just pure rock & roll from front to back," the "Girlfriend" singer also claimed.

Lavigne also shared that she reflected through different relationships she went through, including where she is at currently. She stated, "even though there's songs about past love experiences that didn't work out, I'm in such a good place in my life that it's still just fun and feisty and light."

"I'm kind of poking fun at myself that I've gone through a lot in love."
