CLAY COUNTY—One person died in an accident just after 10p.m. Thursday in Clay County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2019 GMC Acadia driven by Ashley Tieu, 36, West Des Moines, IA., was southbound on Interstate 35 just south of U.S. 69.
The SUV struck a pedestrian identified as Bernice Rodriguez, 38, Liberty, who was crossing the highway. Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene. Tieu was not injured an properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
