LEELANAU COUNTY, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- A local construction company is developing a small housing community in Leelanau County.

Leelanau Construction is building 30 units on a 5-acre parcel of land in the Village of Cedar.

Ten of the units will be single-family homes along with 20 duplexes and quadplexes.

The company describes the project as smaller homes for smaller prices.

The first house will be built in early summer.

“So we hope to be priced very reasonable to get some families moved in here to Cedar on we're just starting infrastructure, we're clearing the five and a half acres," said Leelanau Construction owner Corey Flaska.

Cedar Cove Estates is the second small home development for Leelanau Construction.
