Bacik has spent more than 50 years of priestly ministry, according to a news release.

He will become a retired priest.

Holy Trinity closed in 2009.

After leaving Lorain, Bacik was reassigned to St. Bartholomew’s Parish, 14865 E. Bagley Road in Middleburg Heights.

Bacik will conclude his pastoral duties with two Masses in Saunders Hall at St. Bartholomew.

The first Mass is 4 p.m., Jan. 15; and the second is 10 a.m., Jan. 16, the release said.

Bacik would be honored if former parishioners joined with him in prayer and thanksgiving as he celebrates this event in his journey of commitment to the Catholic church, according to the release.

There will be a reception following each Mass, where social distancing protocols will be in place, the release said.
