SAN ANTONIO - An inspirational YouTuber from San Antonio passed away at 15-years old, after a lifetime battling a rare genetic condition.
Adalia Rose Williams was followed by millions of subscribers on YouTube where she would post videos about her life like any other teenager might.
When she was a baby, Adalia was diagnosed with progeria, also known as Hutchinson-Gilford syndrome, which MayoClinic describes as a "rare, progressive genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly, starting in their first two years of life."
According to MayoClinic, progeria is fatal, and most children born with it have an average life expectancy of "about 13 years."
In a post on her official Facebook page, her family wrote:
January 12, 2022 at 7pm Adalia Rose Williams was set free from this world. She came into it quietly and left quietly, but her life was far from it. She touched MILLIONS of people and left the biggest imprint in everyone that knew her. She is no longer in pain and is now dancing away to all the music she loves. I really wish this wasn’t our reality but unfortunately it is.
In a YouTube video posted back in November of 2021, Adalia announced that she had moved into a new home with her family in San Antonio.
The family ended the Facebook post with the following:
We want to say thank you to everyone that loved and supported her. Thank you to all her doctors and nurses that worked for YEARS to keep her healthy. The family would now like to mourn this huge loss in private.
