LOS ANGELES (KNX) – A furniture store employee was found dead Thursday, by a customer entering Croft House around 2 p.m. in Hancock Park, police said.

The Los Angeles Police Department responded to a reported assault with a deadly weapon at the store in the 300 block of North La Brea, near Beverly Boulevard.

Officer Mike Lopez said responding officers arrived and found the woman, believed to be in her twenties, dead inside the store.

The woman is believed to have been stabbed to death earlier in the day by a man who entered the store while she was working alone, according to Fox 11 News.

The area around the scene was blocked off much of the evening as homicide detectives investigated. LAPD officers told KNX they hope surveillance footage provides them with significant clues..
