Shadow and Bone season 2 has made a number of casting additions as filming begins in Budapest.

Announced by original novel series author Leigh Bardugo via Instagram today (January 13), please welcome Jack Wolfe (The Witcher) as Wylan Hendriks, Patrick Gibson (The OA) as Nikolai Lantsov, Anna Leong Brophy (Ragdoll) as Tamar Kir-Bataar and Lewis Tan (Mortal Kombat) as Tolya Yul-Bataar.

But that's not all, as TVLine reports Genya Safin's Daisy Head has been promoted to series regular, as well as Nina Zinek's Danielle Galligan and Matthias' Calahan Skogman.

In the second season of this Netflix fantasy epic, fans will of course be catching up with Alina Starkov (Jessie Mei Li), The Darkling (Ben Barnes), Mal Oretsev (Archie Renaux) and Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter) in their respective storylines.

"Everyone pictures books differently in their minds, so it can be hard to judge whether OG fans will appreciate the visuals of any given adaptation. In this case though, it's hard to imagine that anyone would be disappointed by the high production values on display here," we wrote.

"Everything from the costumes to the special effects just screams money in ways that other fantasies haven't for a while now. It seems then that Netflix held some coins back and tossed them to Shadow and Bone, as well as The Witcher.

"It's safe to say that Netflix will be throwing plenty more coins at this show for a while to come, and that's something to be celebrated, not least because of how wonderfully diverse this story is too."
