EastEnders spoilers follow.
Chelsea Fox actress Zaraah Abrahams has discussed her character's grand plan for killer husband Gray Atkins.
In upcoming EastEnders scenes, where she's biding her time as their baby son Jordan fights for his life in hospital, Chelsea is urged to sign the youngster's birth certificate without Gray's involvement, so when he's (hopefully) imprisoned for the murder of Chantelle, she'll be free from his clutches once and for all.

Opening up on the drama, Abrahams said Chelsea truly believes in this birth certificate plot against Gray, explaining: "I think she is clinging to anything that gives her hope. She really does think that this is going to work. She has run away to another country before, so running away isn't a big thing for her. She invests all her thoughts and feelings into it."
With Kheerat Panesar and Whitney Dean offering close support, does Chelsea feel safer with them around?
"I think it comes and goes, she feels safer knowing that other people know what Gray's like and are keeping an eye out for her but I think she feels that they have ulterior motives too, it's more about them than her," noted the soap star.
"Sometimes she doesn't feel like she is their priority in all this."

As the new scenes unfold, Chelsea is afforded an opportunity to escape thanks to Kheerat, who persuades Gray to meet him out in town. But when she's later caught out, how does she feel?
"Like a rabbit caught in headlights, she is trying to think ahead but she can't, she is trying to over-explain but she can't," Abrahams commented.
"She has that sunken feeling in her stomach. She feels like Gray is just too clever and there is nothing she can do. She will just have to surrender and let things happen. She doesn't know what to do."
Meanwhile, according to the actress, Gray is too "wrapped up with himself" to even consider the fact Chelsea recognises his dark, true colours.
"I think he thinks he is so smart that he doesn't suspect anyone knows."
EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
