As the Kansas City Chiefs are set for an AFC wild-card encounter with the Pittsburgh Steelers, quarterback Patrick Mahomes sees that the AFC North powerhouse may have to keep a close eye on wideout Tyreek Hill.

Although he was cleared to feature in the Chiefs’ home clash against the Steelers in the regular season following a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list, Hill was not a focal point of the team’s game planning on offense. He played in a mere 42 percent of snaps on offense and hauled in two receptions over the contest.

Hill may not come into this matchup with Pittsburgh at 100 percent considering that he is still recovering from a heel injury suffered last week. At the least, Mahomes believes Hill could still be in for a standout game this week, which he touched on during a press conference ahead of the game.

“Yeah, I mean he’s a special player,” Mahomes said. “He makes the defense account for everybody. The fact that to have his speed on the field, it makes defenses play different coverages, they know they can’t put him in man-on-man situations because how talented he is.”

Hill has had not had his way in career matchups against the Steelers, as he has not recorded a 100-plus receiving yards game in four regular season clashes with them.

As mentioned, Hill has been dealing with a heel injury, although he was a full participant in practice on Thursday.

The Chiefs are aiming to pull off yet another deep playoff run in the Patrick Mahomes era.
