Drake Joins Elite Double-Double Club on Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart With ‘Certified Lover Boy’
The album gets 10 weeks atop R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and gives the superstar a rare achievement.
Drake’s Certified Lover Boy hits a milestone 10th week at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, as the set rebounds from No. 4 to lead the list dated Jan. 15. The album earned 37,000 equivalent album units in the corresponding tracking week, ending Jan. 6, according to MRC Data, up 2% from the prior week.
Thanks to Certified Lover Boy reaching double-digits at No. 1, Drake becomes the 10th artist to have two projects each rule Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums for 10 or more weeks since the list began in 1965. Certified Lover Boy joins the superstar’s Take Care, which captured 12 weeks in the top slot in 2012-13.
Among all artists, Michael Jackson and The Temptations claims the most double-digit leaders, each with four separate albums.
