SAN ANTONIO - A driver was killed in a crash with an 18-wheeler dump truck in far West Bexar County Thursday afternoon.
It happened around 1:15 p.m. at the intersection of West Loop 1604 South at FM 143 just south of Highway 90 near JBSA-Lackland.
Officials with Bexar County Sheriff's Office say the driver of an 18-wheeler dump truck was going westbound on Loop 1604 when someone driving a gray Lexus pulled out into the intersection at FM 143. The driver of the 18-wheeler crashed into the Lexus, pinning it to a light pole. The driver of the Lexus died at the scene. No word on any other injuries.
Southbound traffic on Loop 1604 at Hwy 90 will be shutdown for the next several hours while they work to investigate and clear the accident. Loop 1604 W at Madonna Lacoste is also shut down.
The crash is under investigation.
