Howdy folks—I hope you had a good Christmas and a Happy New Year. I had a super Christmas with my daughter and son-in-law as well as two granddaughters. Also the Kinners from Batavia with their three children and a son-in-law came to see me. Jamie told me that Grace wants to buy some ground in the Kentucky mountains to build a cabin and live there.

George Rooks, The Ole Fisherman.

Now Monday, we had bingo and on Tuesday at 11 AM we are having word search and each day we have a game of some sort. We have snacks that include popcorn and some type of drink. There is always a nice group that attends the programs probably like 25. The lady had a board with names on it and then she got out the popcorn popper and had a big feast of fresh popcorn for everyone. I ate one bag and then another. The activities Director, Natasha, always has some kind of program each day for the people here. She is so talented and liked by everyone.

I was talking to Danny Grant and he said they have planted some tomatoes for next year and they are having trouble getting new plants due to the truck shortage. Jason was in Columbus getting plants.

They took an x-ray and I have some pneumonia in both lungs, so they are giving me some medicine for that. The ladies take care of me each morning sure do a good job. They have worked all night. I keep thinking Ruth Ann will be there. I am wrong for sure. I miss her but will see her someday.

I just finished my breakfast of eggs, bacon, coffee, orange juice and two bowls of oatmeal with brown sugar in each bowl. It was very good. Today we are having a pizza party. There is a pizza parlor close by. That will be good.

I was surprised when in walked Paula and her sister and Mike to spend some time with me. Paula looked as pretty as always. It was so good to see her. I talked to the Boars Head Bait Shop in Afton and Wendy said the fishing was extra good on the last day of the year. With the rain fishing is slow. It will get better as we get closer to spring. The crappie will be bigger this year. The lady said Mike had got to does during the hunting season.

I was talking to my buddy and he said the crappie and sauger are starting to bite in the river. He had some crappie that were 14 inches long and big sauger.

Start your week by praying and praising the good Lord.

God bless all …
