According to court documents, Knutson was identified through the FBI’s tip line in January 2021. A relative told agents that Knutson was a rapper who sold music online and posted to a YouTube channel. Several videos on the channel were about the events at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Additionally, United States Capitol Police’s close-circuit television showed Knutson entering the capitol building around 3:30 p.m. near the Senate Wing Doors, by climbing through a broken window.

In court Wednesday, Knutson was released on several conditions and must appear via zoom for a hearing on January 20 in the District Court for the District of Columbia, where the case will be transferred.
