EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders has a bitter surprise in store for Billy Mitchell in a twist that might upend his relationship with Karen Taylor.

In upcoming episodes, Billy (Perry Fenwick) will need assistance with a house clearing. Tom "Rocky" Cotton (Brian Conley) will come to the rescue and help him for a cost.

Billy offers Karen (Lorraine Stanley) to take whatever she wants from the house he is clearing. He does the same, having eyed a doll that he thinks his daughter Janet (Grace) might like.

However, once he examines the doll, Billy is surprised to find some cash stashed away in the toy.

Only after they leave, he realises that two similar dolls exist and Karen has picked up the one with the cash hidden inside.

Later on, Billy sees Mia (Mahalia Malcolm) in the café as she is playing with the incriminatory doll. In an attempt to take the money, Billy destroys the doll, to the disappointment of Mia.

Elsewhere in Walford, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) is determined to expose Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) for his murderous past.

Gray's wife, Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) tells Whitney that even if Gray does go down for the murder of his former spouse Chantelle (Jessica Plummer), she will never get rid of him once he is registered on Jordan's birth certificate.

Acknowledging this, Whitney decides to change her plan and encourages Chelsea to sign the birth certificate without Gray on there.

These scenes air on Tuesday, January 18 and Thursday, January 20 on BBC One. EastEnders airs on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One.
