The Equalizer 3 is officially a go, according to star Denzel Washington.
A sequel to 2018's vigilante actioner, which was directed by Antoine Fuqua (Training Day), nothing is known about the plot as of yet, but you can bet bad guys will have their comeuppance by Washington's ex-marine Robert McCall.

Telling Collider about his future plans, the two-time Oscar winner revealed: "They have written the third Equalizer, so I'm scheduled to do that. So I gotta get in shape and start beating people up again. I get to beat people up again.
"The Tragedy of Macbeth and then going and beating some people up. Can't get any better, right?"
Speaking of the latest cinematic vision of Macbeth, in which Washington breathes life into the titular Lord, director Joel Coen's black-and-white movie astounded critics when it premiered in New York City last autumn, landing a 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

"For all its physical beauty and austerity, that hurried, heightened reality makes it hard to forget that what you're watching is less a standalone movie than an exceptionally well-staged play put on screen," wrote Entertainment Weekly. Little White Lies added: "Even if the dry wit and cherrypickable allusions may be absent, the technical virtuosity on display marks this as the work of a master. Visceral, haunted and severe, Coen's vision coaxes out not just the intensity in the play – every "gritty" take has done this, from Roman Polanski to Justin Kurzel – but its older renderings too."
