We’re two years out from the next presidential election, and already, The View is bracing for impact. During today’s hot topics, the panelists completely shut down a potential Joe Biden/Liz Cheney ticket. Didn’t we learn enough from George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, The View argued? Joy Behar and Sunny Hostin slammed the idea of the pair running, especially picking apart Liz Cheney’s recent rise to fame (which, they claimed, should be infamy) in the Republican and Democratic Parties.

Behar was aghast by the idea, shocked that Vice President Kamala Harris wouldn’t be asked to run again. If the opportunity presented itself, it’s pretty clear that Behar would not vote for Biden/Cheney.

“Two things on that: first of all, they don’t agree on anything except that they both hate Trump. That’s basically the only thing they agree on,” Behar said. “It would put a gridlock in the White House, as well as the Congress. And anyway, god forbid something would happen to Biden, I’m not into a President Cheney. I already did that with the Bush administration, believe me!”

Hostin agreed entirely with her co-host, raising Behar’s disapproval with a flurry of arguments as to why a Cheney/Biden ticket would crash and burn.

“It’s shocking to me that Liz Cheney is all of a sudden the savior of democracy, when she has done just the bare minimum,” Hostin said. “She voted to impeach Donald Trump. She’s told the truth about the insurrection. That really is just the bare minimum.”

And without further ado, Hostin continued with a sprawling list of receipts against Liz Cheney. If anyone needs a full background of Cheney’s voting history, no worries: Hostin has got it on record.

“She voted with Donald Trump 92 percent of the time when he was in office. Let’s look at her track record,” she said. “She voted against voting rights. She voted against the For the People Act of 2021. She voted against the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act. She voted against Violence Against Women Reauthorization. She voted against the enhanced background checks. She voted against increasing COVID stimulus payments. She voted against emergency housing assistance during the pandemic. She voted against expanding the Affordable Care Act. She voted against providing disaster aid for Puerto Rico.”

Ultimately, Hostin asked: “Why would she be on the ticket as Joe Biden? Why would she make a good President or Vice President?” she continued. “She stands against everything that the democratic platform stands for.”

While Sara Haines was more anti-Biden than the rest of her co-hosts when it came to a Biden/Cheney ticket, Whoopi Goldberg stepped to his defense.

“Well, I gotta tell you, Joe’s been in for a year,” Goldberg said. “He’s getting his butt kicked every day. They keep saying he can’t do enough, he’s too old, he’s too this — I’m really glad he’s doing what he’s doing as hard as he’s trying to do it. Does he fumble words? Yeah, me too. I’m not mad at him about any of this.”
