John Cena plays ‘Peacemaker’ in new HBO Max series: How to watch, premiere date, trailer

Director James Gunn brings the DC Comics character Peacemaker to life, inspiring a new series coming to HBO Max this week.

“Peacemaker” premieres on the streaming service Thursday, Jan. 13. Audiences were originally introduced to Peacemaker in Gunn’s 2021 film “The Suicide Squad” and the story of this character is continued through the HBO Max series.

The “misguided superhero” is sent on another mission to save the world, taking several of his superhero friends along with him. The series stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, Freddie Stroma as Vigilante, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Steve Agee as Economos and Robert Patrick as Auggie Smith.

Peter Safran and Matt Miller serve as executive producers on the series along with Gunn; Cena is co-executive producer. The language and imagery used in this series is rated R and may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewers discretion is advised.
