The entire Star Wars fandom went absolutely berserk when news circulated this week on social media that The Mandalorian Season 3's filming has allegedly been put on hold due to the threat of the COVID-19 virus' Omicron variant. The good folks over at Bespin Bulletin broke the news last January 11 that filming for the highly anticipated series is being delayed indefinitely, as per their trusted sources.

Turns out, Bespin's initial sources gave them the wrong info and in a new update, the Star Wars-driven site is now reporting that filming for The Mandalorian Season 3 has resumed following the holiday break. The site's admin clarified the original report and apologized for the confusion and misinformation they delivered to fans.

As it stands, all of us are still being kept in the dark with regards to the progress of Season 3 but considering production began last year, it would be safe to assume that filming for the series is already halfway finished. Thankfully, there's no truth to the rumors of it getting delayed.

This new development definitely gives a lot of fans a huge sigh of relief and despite the fact that 2022 will mark the debuts of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor, it can't be denied that fans are clamoring for more Mandalorian goodness and honestly, we've waited long enough for it to get delayed now. Hopefully, filming will wrap real soon.

The Mandalorian Season 3 is expected to hit Disney+ later this year.
