Defenseman facing discipline for head-butting against Bruins forward Haula

Chris Wideman will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Thursday.

The Montreal Canadiens defenseman is facing discipline for head-butting Boston Bruins forward Erik Haula.
The incident occurred at 6:57 of the third period of the Bruins' 5-1 win at TD Garden.
Wideman received two minor penalties, one for roughing against Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo and one for unsportsmanlike conduct against Carlo.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: head-butting. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
