Amazon Game Studios pulled several New World quests until further notice, in order to prevent player frustration over missing rewards.

AGS still has a long list of bugs to fix in New World and they seem to be taking their time for most of them. On the other hand, those that interrupt the experience the most, as well as some that players aren't particularly troubled with, are taking priority and are getting fixed on January 12, 2022.

One of the major annoyances for the player was a series of quests that didn't provide the intended rewards. These quests include:

  • Edge of the World
  • Call Beyond the Void
  • Stirs the Awakened
  • The Cursed Blade
  • Sensou no Ko

Players who already completed these quests will get to keep the XP and gold earned but they will have to repeat them once the quests come back, provided the players still wish for the completion. From the sound of the patch notes, they will be eligible for full rewards once again when the quests return.

Besides the quests, AGS also decided to make the bow even clunkier in the process of fixing the issue where archery enthusiasts would animation cancel by jumping immediately after shooting the arrow. The weapon now has a .33 second delay after releasing an arrow before a jump can be triggered.,

Another game-breaker was the condition stacking where permanent disease and slow could be applied in PvP. This issue was apparently fixed as well, along with Void Blade heavy attack sliding and wrong mob spawning in Guardian of the Light.

The Surgeon, Pit Lord Daehi, Baines and Mordici The Mortician should now drop battle trophy materials properly.
