Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights will introduce four new Warriors of Light: Claire, Steel Franklin, Sandra Cassandra, and Rufus. Aside from these four, returning characters from the previous games will also appear as allies. You can also increase your friendship with characters through conversation in the plaza to hire them.

Like the main titles of the series, Brilliant Lights will use the Brave and Default battle system. You can select Default to charge up BP (Brave Points) and reduce damage. Every action you take requires BP, and you gain it throughout combat. When you select Brave, you can then use up your saved BP to perform multiple actions per turn.

You can also use items and currency to level up your characters’ ranks, support abilities, and command abilities. There are also new costumes that you can unlock as you increase your character’s ranks. According to the play manual, you can also team up with other players and cooperate in battle. There will be a chat function to better coordinate with your teammates.

Bravely Default: Brilliant Lights will come out on mobile devices in Japan on January 27, 2022. There is no news in regards to a localization.
