Dancing on Ice hopeful Sally Dynevor has revealed that she won't be taking a break from Coronation Street when the competition kicks off – instead, she'll be juggling "both".

Sally – who plays Weatherfield stalwart Sally Metcalfe – admitted that she knows it's going to be "quite tough" to keep up both filming and training, but that she's ready and even excited for the challenge.

Ahead of Dancing on Ice's return this weekend, the soap star revealed that she'd chatted to previous DoI contestants and her Corrie co-stars Brooke Vincent and Samia Longchambon about the commitment.

"I've told Brooke because obviously she plays my daughter and I've told Samia, because I've got a storyline with Samia at the moment, but I've not told anyone else yet," she said.

"They said that I would absolutely love it but to be prepared to work really hard. They said that it's going to be really hard but that I will just really enjoy it," she added. "[So,] that's what I'm going to do."

The Corrie favourite also opened up about her decision to join the ice-dancing series, calling it a "once-in-a-lifetime experience".

"I like the idea of people [getting] to see me for who I am after all these years," she added. "I'm quite private and I'm not very good at putting my head above the parapet, so this for me is massive.

"That scares me a little bit because I'm very used to hiding behind a character and just being part of Coronation Street, but it will be nice for people to see me as me and not as my character."

Despite previously climbing to Everest Base Camp and cycling from London to Paris, Sally reckons that Dancing on Ice will be the most daunting physical challenge yet.

"This is the scariest thing I've ever done," she insisted.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 7.30pm on ITV, while Dancing on Ice will return on January 16, airing on ITV.
